About this blog

Hello, Friends and Family!

Welcome to our WordPress site!  This is an avenue for Travis and me to share about our journey together through the mysterious health issues that I have dealt with since 2003.  In these posts, we hope to share the ups and downs of our journey toward health, the tests and doctor’s visits, the prayers needed, and the way you can walk alongside us as we traverse this path.  Will you please join us on this journey?

Mariah and Travis

  1. Mariah, this is Elizabeth Hernández (from México), I want to tell you that I’m praying for your health. God bless you.

  2. You are a brave and tender soul Mariah! I pray that life just continues to get better and easier for you. That the Lord brings healing to EVERY facet of this illness. I know the rough road it can be with having Chronic Lyme.. I can tell you are a faith filled woman though and know He will be faithful to you. You are an inspiration to many and deeply appreciated!!! May HIS face shine upon you dear one!!! Hugs..

  3. Grateful you found the root cause of your health problems! My experience is doctors refusing to learn anything about it. I am grateful you have a clinic to treat you! Keep spreading the word so others can be diagnosed and learn about it so we do not have to keep suffering from nonbelievers. Good luck!

  4. I just stumbled upon your blog as well. Thank God!
I got radically sick 17 months ago.. EBV, which morphed into CFS and ME and the list goes on.. You know .. Many docs and lots of money and we still don’t have clear answer. But there was a defining acute illness that changed my life and my husbands… We think it was chemical exposure from a hotel renovation project we managed .. We lived on site for three months… I’ve been sick ever since. How can I read all your posts and find encouragement and healing? Willing to travel to get well. Blessings ! Carolyn

  5. Mariah,

I would love to ask you some questions about your DNRS training. Is there a way that I can get in touch with you? I don’t have Facebook. Thank you! 🙂

  6. Mariah – I read your latest update that you recently had your last visit to cleveland clinic. Congratulations!! I’m curious if you are still following the shoemaker protocol, or if DNRS did away with your need for that. Thank you for being so open with your journey. I’m on a similar path (just finished the dvds!) and am so encouraged by your progress.

    • Kate, HOORAY! I am SO glad you are doing the DNRS program! It is life changing! I stopped using the Shoemaker protocol shortly after starting the DNRS program. If you can get in with a DNRS coach, that will help you on your journey!

  7. Mariah, I read through all of your blog posts the last 2 days – there are so many overlaps in our lives! I grew up not far from where you live, and now live in the “tip of the mitt”. I have suffered from chronic health problems for years, seen umpteen specialists as well, and have a diagnosis of chronic lyme (most recently – past diagnoses have included narcolepsy, periodontal disease, hypothyroidism, IBS…). (Unfortunately, my 3 children have many of the same symptoms I have – the logistics of treating all 4 of us are daunting.) I am wondering if CIRS is a more comprehensive diagnosis, and have a consultation with a CIRS expert from CA over the phone next month. My struggle to regain health is also intertwined with my faith walk, as I am a believer as well. I would love to know more about the roles you believe your mold sabbatical and binding med had on your improvement, in relation to the neuroplasticity treatment you underwent. I’d also love to know how you started the process of working with the staff at Cleaveland Clinic. Finally, have your health improvements been lasting? Well wishes to and prayers for you from a sister in Christ up north – Michelle J

    • Michelle,

Hello! DNRS was definitely the healing path that has restored my health to where it is today. Extreme avoidance of mold, binding meds, and CIRS protocols did not improve my health. We figure we spent over 150,000 dollars going to doctors trying to get me well and DNRS only cost 250 dollars for the DVD and it has been incredible! I appreciated my doctor at Cleveland Clinic, but if you are dealing with chronic health issues I think that DNRS can help you, rather than additional doctors. Looking at your health issues, I believe that DNRS can really help you! There are a couple YouTube videos of people who have successfully overcome Lyme through DNRS. Here is one that I love: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1C1bjmbxxg . Just go to YouTube and search for Lyme DNRS and things will come up. Regarding CIRS experts, they typically do the Shoemaker protocol, binders, and avoidance. DNRS is a totally different approach, as it rewires your brain out of a state of hypersensitivity to mold and other things and into a state of growth and repair. It is life-giving and life-restoring – a true healing from God. And you can make it your own and weave your faith into it. In fact, my retraining has deepened my faith like never before and helped me to see some of the things that were getting in the way of my relationship with God. With great hope for you, Mariah

  8. Hi, Mariah! I just came across your blog yesterday. I am beyond thrilled that you found healing and with DNRS! I have traveled a journey for some time. I had a trigger event on Oct. 14, 2015. Without all the details I attended the DNRS in-person seminar in February in Santa Fe and I am so excited to be retraining my brian, even on the hard days! I would love to connect, if you have an email?

  9. Hi Miriah…Your story was brought to my attention by my daughter. It is at a time when I really needed encouragement. I deal with Fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety. I have tried many things which help for a while and the stressors bring it back into full swing. I feel very lonely in this, even I have a very supportive family. I have had a number of traumatic things happen during my lifetime. And many of them relate to deaths of my son, brother, mother, father and brother in-law. I would love your opinion on this program for me. If I could retrain my brain to handle these stressors better. I actually live in the Holland, MI area and would love to connect. I do not have a facebook account but could email. Thank you for your testimony of faith and perserverance. Sally

    • Sally, I am so grateful my blog and my story encouraged you! I definitely think that DNRS could be very helpful to you. I think it can actually be helpful to everyone, but especially those who are so limited by chronic illnesses, including fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression, such as you are experiencing right now. I would encourage you to begin with the DVDs and some coaching (along with participating on the forum). As my blog stated, I recovered using the DVDs, but some people could benefit further from an in-person seminar, which you could always do later if you would like. There is a link to the DNRS website on my blog. You will find the DVDs available for order on their website. If you decide to start the program, I would love to hear of your successes! Warmly, Mariah
