A home for us!

“I will bring them home to their own land from the places where they have been scattered.” Ezekiel 37:21

We found a home!

After 10 months of nomadic life, half of which involved extreme avoidance measures, and half of which we have seen miraculous healing through DNRS, we have our very own home. We lived in a LOT of hotels, the CIRS safe house in California, a rental in Morro Bay, and in the homes of generous family members during the past 308 days.  While the nomadic life is to be praised on many levels, there us much to be said about having your own space and living in one single place for a long length of time. We are so very grateful that this is on the horizon for us!

We move tomorrow!

Our home is in Hudsonville, which was not the original plan when we moved back to Michigan. Along with our trusty realtor, we looked all over Holland and couldn’t find anything that worked for us (in our price range, not right next to a turkey farm or the expressway or a railroad…you know, the usual). After some time, we decided to open up our search beyond Holland and we found a place we love here in Hudsonville!  It is bright and happy and close to family.

We now have the unique opportunity to completely decorate and furnish our new home, which is a chance that not many people in mid-life get to do.  It is providing ample fodder for brain retraining, for sure!

As always, we are so grateful for you, our friends and family that have so faithfully stood by us through these times. To celebrate, let’s sup together, shall we?  Looking forward to spending time with you in the near future!

Here are some recent photos of us doing things together that we only dreamed of before brain retraining!

We kayak!

Travis wake surfs!

We go tubing!

We eat ice cream and goof around!

We stop and grab a bite of chocolate if the opportunity presents itself!

We bought a home!  This is our awesome realtor, Jeannette Brownson, and our mortgage lender, Vicki Mulder.  They are amazing!

Here is a peek into our home. šŸ™‚

Travis’ Hebrew textbook was published this month!  HOORAY!  This is a HUGE accomplishment!

Okay, this picture isn’t of us, but it’s what we do every day. Go, Team West! Retrain your brains! We are seeing amazing results in our health and wellbeing.  If you would like to learn more about brain retraining, go to WWW.RETRAININGTHEBRAIN.COM

  5. Hi Mariah,

So amazing about your recovery. My question to you is did you have to test this new house in Michigan with an ERMI or do you feel you can safely live in mold again?

I ask because I am 3 years out of the original house that made me sick, but our ERMI is low in our current house (about a 3) I want to start DNRS here to heal but does the house need to be mold free?

    Thank you!

    • Hi Brittany,

I did not feel the need to do an ERMI test for our new home. I trusted my instincts when I was in the home. We made sure that there were no signs of mold growth and asked questions about any previous water damage in the home. You can most definitely start your DNRS journey where you are. There is no home that is mold free, but what is available to you is to cultivate a neural network in your brain that is not reactive to your surroundings. Much power to you as you begin your DNRS journey!

      • Thank you so much for your quick reply Mariah! I agree and I am excited to start!

I saw you had IBS too. Did DNRS help you get rid of bloating?

  6. Hi Brittany, DNRS helped with the bloating to an extent. What has helped me the most is really getting in touch with my inner body. The work of Eckhart Tolle, particularly the book titled “The Power of Now” helped me start on this path. Also, I have learned much about my body through the study of Ayurveda, the ancient health system of India.
